Deep Blue Earrings
Turquoise sea glass dangle earrings set in silver
These earrings were inspired by the mix of blues in the ocean on a particularly beautiful day. The water ranged from a smashing turquoise to a mysterious dark blue - when the sun rays hit the waves. I used sparkly rough apatite gemstones and precious sapphires to complement the rare sea glass. The turquoise shards shine at the center of this unique pair of earrings. Because of the nature of genuine sea glass the earrings are slightly mismatched.
All the sea glass stems from the shores of the Eastern Mediterranean in Israel. The earrings belong to my collection "After the Storm".
Sea glass - the gem from the ocean - takes dozens and even hundreds of years, to acquire its characteristic texture and round shape. Tumbled by the waves, the glass loses its shiny surface and slowly gets the frosted look that makes it so unique. Sea glass is considered rare all over the world.
All Urban Sea jewelry pieces are one of a kind and handmade. No two pieces will ever be exactly the same.
