Sea foam and Blue Sky Earrings
Blue and green sea glass earrings with gemstones set in silver
These mismatched earrings were inspired by one of those fun days where the sea is a light green and the sky above a smashing light blue. Each ear gets a different color - or you wear them both in one. I set the different shards in green and blue in fine silver and added a little sparkling touch with three lovely iolite gemstones. They are dangling around happily on the silver tubes. All the sea glass stems from the shores of the Eastern Mediterranean in Israel.
Sea glass - the gem from the ocean - takes dozens and even hundreds of years, to acquire its characteristic texture and round shape. Tumbled by the waves, the glass loses its shiny surface and slowly gets the frosted look that makes it so unique. Sea glass is considered rare all over the world.
