Shallow Water Earrings II
Aqua sea glass earrings in gold
Aqua is the name of this color, and it fits perfectly for these glassy gems. They remind me of the shallow waters along the sea shore. I set the two nearly identical lovely shards in 9 carat yellow gold. They stem from the shores of the Eastern Mediterranean in Israel. The earrings belongs to my collection "Maritime Gold".
Sea glass - the gem from the ocean - takes dozens and even hundreds of years, to acquire its characteristic texture and round shape. Tumbled by the waves, the glass loses its shiny surface and slowly gets the frosted look that makes it so unique. Sea glass is considered rare all over the world.
